Release Date: 25th December 1939
Walt Disney's second full-length animated feature focuses on the famous wooden puppet who wants nothing more than to be a real boy. Pinocchio (voiced by Dick Jones) is the wood-carved creation of Geppetto (Christian Rub). When the pair are visited by the Blue Fairy, she grants Pinocchio the opportunity to become a real, flesh-and-blood boy, but only if he learns to be brave, honest and unselfish. To this end Pinocchio is granted a conscience, one which comes in the shape of the diminutive Jiminy Cricket (Cliff Edwards). However, Pinocchio soon discovers that being good is not as easy as it sounds. The film won two Oscars, for Best Song ('When You Wish Upon a Star') and Best Original Score. - (c)Disney

The Blue Fairy: Now, remember, Pinocchio: be a good boy. And always let your conscience be your guide.

Geppetto: Say hello to Figaro.
Pinocchio: Hello to Figaro.

The Blue Fairy: Little puppet made of pine, awake. The gift of life is thine.

Pinocchio: I'd rather be smart than be an actor.

Jiminy Cricket: A fine conscience I turned out to be!

Geppetto: Now, I've got just the name for you: Pinocchio! Do you like it, Figaro?
Geppetto: No? You do, don't you, Cleo?
Geppetto: Well, we'll leave it to little wooden head. You like it?
Geppetto: Ha-ha, that settles it! Pinocchio it is!

Jiminy Cricket: Remember what I said about temptations?
Jiminy Cricket: That's him.
Pinocchio: Oh, no, Jiminy. That's Mr. Honest John.
Jiminy Cricket: Honest John?

Jiminy Cricket: Lampwick, hmph! Lampwick! Burns me up after all I tried to do for him. Who's his conscience, anyway? Me or that hoodlum Lampwick? Well, I've had enough of this. I'm takin' the next boat outta here.

Stromboli: There! This will be your home - where I can find you always!
Pinocchio: No, no, no!
Stromboli: Yes, yes, yes! To me, you are a belonging. We will tour the world: Paris, London, Monte Carlo, Constantinopolee.
Pinocchio: No, no!
Stromboli: YES! We start TONIGHT!
Stromboli: You will make lots of money
Stromboli: for me!
Stromboli: And when you are growing too old, you will make good firewood!
Stromboli: Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!
Pinocchio: Let me out of here! I'm gonna get out! You can't keep me...!
Stromboli: QUIET! Shut up before I *knock* you silly!
Stromboli: Good night, my little wooden gold mine! Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!

The Blue Fairy: Prove yourself brave, truthful, and unselfish, and someday, you will be a real boy.

The Coachman: And what might your name be?
Alexander: Alexander.
The Coachman: So you can talk?
Alexander: Yes, sir. I wanna go home to my mama!
The Coachman: Take him back! He can still talk!
Alexander: Please, please, I don't wanna be a donkey! Let me outta here!
The Coachman: Quiet! You boys have had your fun. Now pay for it!

Lampwick: Hey, who's the beetle?
Jiminy Cricket: Let go! Put me down!
Pinocchio: He's my conscience. He tells me what's right and wrong.
Lampwick: What? You mean to tell me you take orders from a grasshopper?
Jiminy Cricket: Grasshopper? Look here, you - you impudent young pup! It wouldn't hurt you to take orders from your grasshop - er, your conscience, if you have one!

Pinocchio: Father, whatcha crying for?
Geppetto: Because... you're dead, Pinocchio.
Pinocchio: No! No, I'm not.
Geppetto: Yes. Yes, you are. Now, lie down...
Pinocchio: But father, I'm alive. See?
Pinocchio: And... and I'm... I'm real. I'm a real boy!
Geppetto: You're alive! And... and you are a real boy!
