Release Date: 13th August 1942
In Disney's spectacularly animated forest fable, a fawn named Bambi is born, destined to become Prince of the Forest. He soon befriends other woodland creatures such as Flower, a bashful skunk, and Thumper, an outgoing rabbit. As the years pass, they encounter a number of life's lessons in the woods, including the death of Bambi's mother at the hands of hunters. Eventually, Bambi comes of age, completing the cycle of life and taking his father's place. Based on the classic novel by Felix Salten, Bambi demonstrates the strength of family values and camaraderie. Director David Hand adds a mixture of great songs and life-like backgrounds to make this early Disney film an unforgettable film classic for all ages. - Unknown

Young Bambi: What happened, Mother? Why did we all run?
Bambi's Mother: Man was in the forest.

Thumper: He doesn't walk very good, does he?
Mrs. Rabbit: Thumper!
Thumper: Yes, mama?
Mrs. Rabbit: What did your father tell you this morning?
Thumper: "If you can't say something nice... don't say nothing at all."

Thumper: Whatcha gonna call 'im?
Bambi's Mother: Well, I think I'll call him Bambi.
Thumper: Bambi... Yep, I guess that'll do all right.

Owl: Same thing every spring. "Tweet-tweet, tweet-tweet! Tweet-tweet, tweet-tweet!" Love's sweet song. Hm! Pain in the pinfeathers, I call it!

Young Bambi: He stopped and looked at me.
Bambi's Mother: Yes, I know.
Young Bambi: Why was everyone still when he came on the meadow?
Bambi's Mother: Everyone respects him. For of all the deer in the forest, not one has lived half so long. He's very brave and very wise. That's why he's known as the Great Prince of the Forest.

Young Thumper: Whatcha doin'? Hibernatin'?
Young Flower: Uh-huh.
Young Bambi: Whatcha wanna do that for?
Young Flower: All us Flowers sleep in the winter. Well, good night.

Great Prince of the Forest: It is Man. He is here again. There are many this time. We must go deep into the forest. Hurry! Follow me!
Bambi: Faline!

Thumper: "Eating greens is a special treat, It makes long ears and great big feet. But it sure is awful stuff to eat." I made that last part up myself.

Flower: Well! What's the matter with them?
Thumper: Why are they acting that way?
Owl: Why, don't you know? They're twitterpated.
Flower, Thumper, Bambi: Twitterpated?
Owl: Yes. Nearly everybody gets twitterpated in the springtime. For example: you're walking along, minding your own business. You're looking neither to the left, nor to the right, when all of a sudden, you run smack into a pretty face. Woo-woo! You begin to get weak in the knees. Your head's in a whirl. And then you feel light as a feather; and before you know it, you're walking on air. And then you know what? You're knocked for a loop, and you completely lose your head!
Thumper: Gosh. That's awful.
Flower: Gee whiz.
Bambi: Terrible!
Owl: And that ain't all. It can happen to anybody. So you'd better be careful.
Owl: It could happen to you...
Owl: ...and you, and...
Owl: Yes, it could even happen to you!
Thumper: Well, it's not gonna happen to me.
Bambi: Me neither.
Flower: Me neither.

There are only 1000 words in the whole film.
This is the last full-length animated feature that was made by Walt Disney until he made Cinderella in 1950.
Donnie Dunagan who played young Bambi kept his part quiet as he was in the Marines and he feared he would earn the nickname 'Bambi'.
The death of Bambi's mother is considered to be one of the saddest and most heartbreaking moment not only in a Disney film but in any film.
Originally Bambi was supposed to be the one who was shot. Walt Disney dismissed the idea and instead decided that Bambi's mother was to be shot instead.
